Is this course right for my industry?

Provide First Aid HLTAID003 (previously known as Apply First Aid or Senior First Aid) and Provide CPR HLTAID001 courses are nationally recognised and required by some industries. Our courses are Nationally accredited and appropriate for the following workplaces and professions.

Workplace first aider – It is recommended that access to first aid personnel is available wherever there are more than 25 persons at a workplace, regardless of whether or not those persons are employees (e.g. schools).

Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 sets out specific first aid requirements for certain types of workplaces. However every workplace has a legal responsibility for ensuring adequate first aid provisions.

Personal Trainers – Fitness Australia require a current First Aid and CPR certificate as a condition of registration. First Aid courses are not eligible for Continuing Education Credits.

GP’s – Our course has been approved by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners

(RACGP) QI&CPD Program. Apply First Aid attendees are awarded a total of 40 Category 1 points (Activity: 763620). Perform CPR attendees are awarded a total of 5 Category 2 points
(Activity: 763579). CPR is also required as part of the RACGP QA&CPD program for General Practitioners.

Nurses – This workshop has been endorsed by Royal College of Nursing, Australia, according to approved criteria. Attendance attracts the following RCNA Continuing Nurse Education (CNE) points as part of RCNA’s Life Long Learning Program (3LP)”

Apply First Aid – 7 RCNA CNE points

Perform CPR – 2.5 RCNA CNE points.

ESSA Continuing Education CommitteeThe ESSA Continuing Education Committee certifies that this continuing education offering meets the criteria for 3 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Points.

Childcare workers – Provide First Aid HLTAID003 and Provide CPR HLTAID001 are approved qualifications by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).

Teachers and Teacher Aides – Teacher Aides are required to hold a current first aid certificate as a prerequisite to advancement. Under the workplace first aider recommendations, all teachers should hold a current First Aid certificate.

How long am I certified for? Do I have to renew?

Provide First Aid is current for three (3) years also including a 12 month CPR component. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommend that CPR is renewed every 12 months.

To give you piece of mind, we will contact you to remind you when your certification is expiring.

How can the one day course be the same as completing the two day course? Is the qualification the same?

Yes the qualification is exactly the same (HLTAID003) whether offered over two days or one day. Since we introduced the new one day format we have found people to be more confident with the learning outcome. The new format is a vastly improved concise format.

Can I have the First Aid course conducted at my workplace?

Yes, we can come to you at a time which suits your workplace. We provide group discounts as well. When we come to you, the training can be tailored specifically to your work environment and includes instruction relating to specific anticipated risks, hazards, & injuries.

Do you provide Asthma and Anaphylaxis Training?

Yes, we provide a combined Asthma and Anaphylaxis course which is nationally recognised and accredited training. Our course is catered to those working in Centre based childcare, Schools and Family Day Care as required by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA). This is a 3hr course which can be combined with Provide First Aid or CPR so that you can gain all the training you require in a single day. For group bookings, we can come onsite to your location or alternatively, you can attend a community based course at one of our many locations across Queensland.

Is the new Provide First Aid the same as completing the Apply First Aid and/or Senior First Aid?

Yes, In July 2013 the updated release to the National Health Training Package HLT07 was released and Provide First Aid now replaces Applied First Aid and Senior First Aid. Each participant is awarded a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment upon successful completion. This accreditation is
current for three years, at which time it must be renewed. The CPR module of the course is current for 12 months requiring annual updates. Queensland First Aid ensures that our courses are up to date with current Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines and national

Is there any internet pre-study or pre-course workbook?

No, we deliver a eight hour course with NO PRE/STUDY WORKBOOK OR ONLINE TIME. Everything is progressively assessed throughout the course.

Are Queensland First Aid and Australia Wide First Aid Courses Accredited?

Yes, we are a Registered Training Organisation, National Provider Number 31961. Our Courses are based on Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, and every successful participant is issued with a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.
