Overview of North Lakes Training Courses
At the completion of this course you will be competent in managing injuries, burns, dehydration or heat stroke, envenomation, substance abuse, stress management techniques, excessive intake of poisoning and toxic substances, medical conditions, cardiac conditions, allergic reactions, stroke, choking, chest pain, fractures, respiratory diseases, seizures, shock, loss of consciousness and causality with no signs of life. The Provide First Aid course is the minimum requirement for workplace first aid compliance. The Provide First Aid certificate is valid for 3 years. The CPR component is valid for 12 months.
Upon completion of this course you will have gained the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to deal with breathing and cardiac emergencies. Through hands-on training you will learn how to provide CPR life support and manage a casualty or incidence until medical professionals arrive.
Education and Care First Aid
This course will give you the opportunity to practice providing first aid to an infant, child or adult as all three Mannequin types will be provided. Additional training topics include managing medical conditions, legal responsibilities of a First Aider, incident reporting in a childcare setting, first aid for burns, bleeding, fractures and many more.
In this course you will learn the symptoms and triggers of an asthma attack, the different classes of asthma medication, the devices used to administer asthma medication and to recognise. Information will be provided on how to treat and manage severe allergic reactions, regulations and definitions of allergies and anaphylaxis and common allergy triggers and symptoms. You will also learn how to use equipment such as asthma puffers, spacers and adrenaline auto-injectors.
This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to manage a casualty involved in a Perform rescue from a live Low Voltage panel. You will be trained in providing CPR, managing, and responding to the signs of an unconscious casualty and communicating effectively with emergency services.

Our North Lakes training centre can be easily accessed from Anzac Avenue and the Bruce Highway. On the right hand side of the Norwinn Centre there is a lift and stairs that lead to our training room. Once you are upstairs walk down the hall to Suite 1.2.
